This was never going to happen. Or come to any good. Trying hard to remember, life before the flood. The rain it will fall, wash away all. All your mistakes. so many mistakes. This was never going to be. The Great Escape. All you;re left is with the hunger, of a death worse than fate. The rain it will fall, wash away all. you should be grateful. Now you've got to wait for the moon to rise. Put away all those fears. For there's no halo without her. And when there was some eclipse, well, you held your breath and you prayed. Remembering promises you made, Hostage to fate, And here;s the slow fade...

Savage 03:17
Sometimes I wonder what you're doing. You're the heart-beat in my ruin. Lying in the dark, you'll glow, longing so, for all I know. So fly.... Bird with the trembling wings tell me what you've been thinking? You took me so high I thought the world was meant for taking. Now I clearly see I was mistaken. Falling hard, your tender heart was are than I could manage. You needed love, but I was just a little savage. I would never dream of putting heaven in a rage. So I freed you, Had to leave you. I knew you felt the same... Sometimes I'd wonder what you were thinking. As you'd gaze up to the sky. Does;t seem so long a go, we were toe-to-toe. Eye to eye. So fly.... Bird on a wire in the wind, tell me what you were thinking? You took me so high I thought the world was meant for taking. Now I clearly see I was mistaken. Falling hard, your tender heart was are than I could manage. You needed love, but I was just a little savage. I was just a little savage. was just a little savage. was just a little ........ .

Proteus 04:04
On the stuff of humanity. I could never rely In the birth of modernity. it;s in too short supply. So i fetched up in a penny gaff. Another Whitechapel stray. With the drunken Shakespeareans. And the Ripper's next prey. Leila your beauty, is was all too much for me. And I broke down at your touch. Writing a letter, an importunate upstart. To a young pretty widow, whose charity, broke my heart. You may engrave my deformities. But you won;t capture my soul. Deemed unfit to be gazed upon. By the good, and the noble. But inside of my phantasy. I am handsome and bold. its a heart prone to charity. Who can never grow old. Laila your beauty it was all too much for me. How I broke down at your touch. I wish I could save you, hold you, enslave you. I would die in your arms to be, 'yours truly; We would marry by a dilly stream, all our friends would come to see, The beautiful couple we made. And if I could only win your heart, I would make each day glamorous. Starting with that most ordinary of days. But on the stuff of humanity. i could never rely.

So did you head down to the tide? And did you haunt the shore like a ghost? Although your tears they taste like the sea. You're gonna make believe in your yesterday. But you'll never catch the girls or the ghouls or listen to the waves as they fall and they crash. Happy and cool, you're a mixed-up fool, still loving in the past. Two-time loser with a tendency, to believe that you;re ruling the world. But that;s a world of hurt, on a slow drive to the coast. And you just don't know how you're facing this all by yourself. You know you growed up when you ceased to believe, that every kiss could be like the first. You may be born on the fourth of July, but some days you'll believe you've been cursed. So watch as the image you cast, fades like the romance of Summer. Dies like a beautiful thing, You get to watch it in the rear-view mirror. So come on, catch the girls and the ghouls and listen to the waves as they fall and they crash, Happy and cool, you're a mixed -up fool. Still living in the past. Trying hard to get some shelter from a dead tree under the thunder, You'll get your heart rent asunder by a world in which you don't belong. And you just don't know how you're facing this all on your own. You're so alone. So in the fading light it seems unreal, sitting like some fake Fellini, trying to get some satisfaction, from the lights, the cameras, the action.

So Disappear 04:05
I don't know why I came here. It doesn't look like before. And the fuel it is empty. I put my foot to the floor. I don't know if this journey. Will begin here or end. So I'll drown in my own tears.Find some way to amend. No point in leaving her running. Because the fuel is all spent. You'll pump on the gas. 'Till the images pass. Look through the pane, and wonder if you'll ever learn. If you seek out all the things you can't control. Don't be surprised if they tell you'Just disappear'. No negotiation. Because the fuel is all spent. Just one more day. They'll find me and say: "Could this be the one,who thought he could rule the world?"

about

Dead Trees is mostly recorded on Garageband but you may encounter sound and quality changes where songs were recorded in Logic. This is 'bricolage' music. made purely for the pleasure of making it. It is a tragic irony of life that enjoying making music is not enough: others must enjoy listening to it. So I've tried to make it enjoyable. whether it is, well that's your call.

about

clark Dunedin, New Zealand

This concludes a four-album series and is a collection of songs which had lain dormant in the hard-drive of my old e-Mac.
Great to get these out and about. Hope you enjoy my trip down memory lane.
